Full Time Commercial Loan Processor - Volusia Banking Center



The Loan Processor has responsibility for preparation of all loan documentation, closing, booking and servicing the Bank's loan portfolio. This also includes general ledger reconcilement, documentation follow-up, and account maintenance for all loans owned or serviced by the bank. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.


• Type and Length of Experience ─ At least five years experience in the loan operations functions of a community bank or equivalent experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Education ─ High school diploma required.
• Courses or Training ─ Significant training in loan operations, document preparation, and compliance. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer programs and systems, as position requires.
• Other Requirements - Must be a proven team player. Must be flexible regarding work schedule. Must maintain a good attendance record and arrive to work on time. Must be capable of withstanding varying degrees of stress.


Loan Administration
• Document Preparation ─ Responsible for the preparation of all loan documentation for every loan product offered by the bank. Primarily responsible for commercial loan documentation, with back-up responsibilities in consumer and residential documentation. Documentation responsibilities to include loan file and credit file documents. A strong working knowledge of the Laser Pro software system is necessary.
• Coordination of Loan Closing ─ Written and verbal communication with attorneys, insurance companies/agents, appraisers, surveyors, customers, account officers, etc.
• Booking Loans ─ Book, balance, fund and reconcile loans. Book and fund all loans on a timely basis, maximizing customer service.
• Post Closing ─ Verify documentation post closing. Check back input of loan booking and maintenance.
• File Maintenance ─ Assist in maintaining the loan portfolio on the data system, to include working tickler reports on FiServ and financial statement tracking systems.
• Payments and Advances ─ Ensure timely administration of payments and advances.
• Maturities ─ Assist in maintaining the maturity monitoring system to ensure that all maturing loans are extended or modified on a timely basis.
• Respond to Customer Inquiries ─ Timely and accurate response to customer inquiries.
• Paid Out Loans ─ Process paid out loans encompassing such tasks as releasing collateral, satisfying mortgages and titles and canceling UCC filings.

Maintenance of the Loan File Systems
• Assist in maintaining the Bank's loan file imaging systems.
• Maintain loan files and credit files in appropriate order.

Collateral Maintenance
• Possessory Collateral ─ Assist in maintaining all possessory collateral (i.e. stock certificates, etc.). Collateral must be maintained under dual control.
• Collateral Valuation ─ Assist in the maintenance of a tracking system to determine and monitor the value of negotiable collateral.
• Property Tax ─ Assist in maintaining the property tax tracking system.
• Insurance ─ Assist in maintaining the collateral insurance tracking system.
• UCC Filings and Maintenance ─ Assist in maintaining the UCC tracking system.

Participation Administration
• Booking Loan Participations – Book new loans that are purchased from or sold to other banks.
• Participation Monitoring - Utilize system reports to monitor payments or advances on participated loans.
• Communication with Participating Banks – Maintain relationships with banks with whom we have participated loans.
Policy Compliance
• Compliance Monitoring and Reporting ─ Assist in the maintenance of the compliance monitoring and reporting system.

Loan Accounting
• Trial Balance ─ Assist in the maintenance of the trial balance system to ensure that it is in balance with the general ledger.

Past Dues
• Collection – Work past dues and make collection calls as requested by management.
• Generate Past Due Reports ─ Prepare past due reports on a schedule as requested by management.

Internal and External Audits
• Assist with all internal and external audits as necessary.

• Customer Service – Ensure adherence to the Banks' customer service standards including ensuring the telephone is answered at all times by the third ring.
• Assist Management - Assist management with all ongoing or special projects as requested or needed.
• Administrative Assistance – Administrative support to Senior Lender and CEO as required.

The employee will occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will regularly sit, talk, listen and use hands. The employee will frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. Vision requirements include close, distant, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The sound level in the work environment is usually moderate.
